The Packaging Supervisor is responsible for supervising all packaging department activities on a daily basis. This position supervises the production, quality, and warehousing of finished product in a manner consistent with company service and cost objectives.
Essential Job Duties
- Responsible for daily planning and team huddle to communicate production schedule.
- Responsible for Packing Dept setup in the morning and afternoon of each production day. Set up may include setting up materials needed for the day.
- Lead and coach employees to be aligned with company goals and objectives
- Keep track of team key metrics (throughput, efficiency and quality)
- Maintain effective communication with employees, supervisors, production manager, manufacturing support manager and quality department
- Monitor product quality from raw materials to packaging materials.
- Constant communication with quality personnel and line operators
- Direct and train personnel on safety procedures involving specific job duties as well as general plant safety guidelines
- Coordinate with Maintenance Lead/Supervisor to ready machinery for scheduled requirements
- Be responsible for pre-op and post sanitation
- Manage employee relations within the team, employee performance reviews and the discipline process
- Check and approve employees’ hours for payroll
- Responsible for Employee related matters in the production dept.
- Communicate with Purchasing on inventory items
- Enter information to MC system daily
- Communicate company policy and procedures
- Ensure all crew members follow HACCP and GMP practices
- Report any food safety and quality problem to personnel with authority to initiate action
- Other duties as required
- Flexibility to work Saturdays as required

Qualifications & Experience
- Two years+ experience as a supervisor in Food Manufacturing
- High School Diploma or GED preferred
- Bilingual in Spanish is preferred.
- Experience with Food and Beverage industry preferred
- Experience sanitizing food processing equipment preferred
Work Environment
- Must be able to stand, walk, kneel and bend for virtually entire shift.
- Occasionally required to balance or climb.
- Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Must be willing to work in a wet and warm environment
