The Packaging Supervisor is responsible for supervising all packaging department activities on a daily basis. This position supervises the production, quality, and warehousing of finished product in a manner consistent with company service and cost objectives.Essential Job DutiesResponsible for daily planning and team huddle to communicate production schedule.Responsible for Packing Dept setup in the morning and afternoon of each production day. Set up may include setting up materials needed for the day.Lead and coach employees to be aligned with company goals and objectivesKeep track of team key metrics (throughput, efficiency and quality)Maintain effective communication with employees, supervisors, production manager, manufacturing support manager and quality departmentMonitor product quality from raw materials to packaging materials.Constant communication with quality personnel and line operatorsDirect and train personnel on safety procedures involving specific job duties as well as general plant safety guidelinesCoordinate with Maintenance Lead/Supervisor to ready machinery for scheduled requirementsBe responsible for pre-op and post sanitationManage employee relations within the team, employee performance reviews and the discipline processCheck and approve employees’ hours for payrollResponsible for Employee related matters in the production dept.Communicate with Purchasing on inventory itemsEnter information to MC system dailyCommunicate company policy and proceduresEnsure all crew members follow HACCP and GMP practicesReport any food safety and quality problem to personnel with authority to initiate actionOther duties as requiredFlexibility to work Saturdays as required Competencies & Skill Requirements Effective communication and interpersonal skills; verbal and written communicationLeadership abilities and able to create a team environmentSelf-motivated with a results-driven approachEffective organizational skills and accuracy in data entryProven ability to set priorities, to pay attention to detail, and to manage multiple tasks. Qualifications & Experience Two years+ experience as a supervisor in Food ManufacturingHigh School Diploma or GED preferredBilingual in Spanish is preferred.Experience with Food and Beverage industry preferredExperience sanitizing food processing equipment preferred Work Environment  Must be able to stand, walk, kneel and bend for virtually entire shift.Occasionally required to balance or climb.Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.Must be willing to work in a wet and warm environment.
