Quality assurance technicians ensure that goods meet manufacturing standards and are free of defects. Quality technicians are responsible for conducting testing procedures during the manufacturing processes to ensure that products comply with quality standards.
Essential Job Duties
- Prepare and Set-up QA equipment and utensils pre-production
- Verify fryers and freezer settings according to production schedule
- Perform daily equipment calibration
- Perform hourly quality check points to ensure consistent quality in product
- SSOP check daily
- Ensure all records are completed timely
- Pre and Post-Op sanitation of Packing area, including ATP test
- Report any food safety and/or quality issues to Production Manager immediately.
- Assist in maintaining (USDA/FDA) regulatory compliance.
- Maintain schedule of testing and validation activities following SQF standards and guidelines.
- Perform other duties as required
- In the absence of Quality Technician, Quality Supervisor will cover his/her Food Safety and Quality responsibilities.
Competencies & Skill Requirements
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Work in a team environment
- Basic Math skills
- Read, write and speak English
- Experience with Quality Control preferred
Qualifications & Experience
- High School Diploma or GED preferred; one to two years’ experience
- Experience with Food and Beverage industry preferred
Sanitation
- Sweep floor, wash the trays, tables, wash carts, short simple conveyor, squeegee the water off the floor, throw out garbage.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Must be able to stand, walk, kneel and bend for virtually entire shift.
- Occasionally required to balance or climb.
- Frequently lift and/or move up to 30 pounds
